Now, onto this week’s resources…
Okuri-Ashi-Barai
This week we’re working on the ashi-waza Okuri-Ashi-Barai using the Koka Kids 4Skills certificates to move students through four stages of learning this throw.
Four Learning Stages to Mastering Okuri-Ashi-Barai
BEGINNER: Good basic understanding of the techniques and able to demonstrate both to the left and right.
SKILLED: Starting to develop movement patterns and transition into groundwork.
ADVANCED: Able to use this technique in combination and as a counter.
MASTER: Begun to experiment with this attack in randori/shiai and has a good understanding of all key points.
Or How Would You Teach Okuri-Ashi-Barai?
Perhaps you have a different method of teaching this throw? Maybe your requirements at each stage are quite different from mine.
No problem.
You can add your own requirements for each level to the blank task sheet template
Download the pdf and list your own system of learning.
