Uchi-Mata
Teach uchimata using this visual step-by-step guide and award your judoka a certificate when they can do the throw.
What a weekend! I was back on the mat, along with Miriam Blasco to watch Masashi Ebinuma, triple world champion coaching his superb technique at the Valencia High Level Training Centre, where Sugoi Uriate and Salvador Gomez hosted a brilliant course, with free entry allowing everyone to learn from Masashi. Amongst the techniques Masashi taught was his Ouchi-Gari and Uchi-Mata combination and it was wonderful to watch his footwork and kuzushi work as he sets up for both.
Ok, let get onto the Koka Kids Judo Coaching Resources for this week. You can receive the certificates and cards below, by taking out a paid monthly or annual subscription. Thank you, if you already have!
I also publish books for kids who love judo and I really appreciate it if you can help me spread the word with your kids. Thank you! Nik Fairbrother
Teaching Uchimata
Today's resources will help you teach uchimata and help your judoka visualise each phase of the throw.
First up, there is a teaching card, showing the steps of the technique to give to your children as they begin learning the throw.
Then, when you feel they can do a great uchimata, there is a certificate to download and award. Why not hold an uchimata session?
