Welcome to Koka Kids - the judo library for coaches
Maybe you just stumbled upon this page, and would like to know more. Let me explain who I am, and what you will find here.
I’m Nicola Fairbrother, and Koka Kids Coaching Resources is a JUDO LIBRARY you can sign up to download judo resources.
I’m an 8th Dan, Olympic silver medallist (Barcelona 1992), world champion (1993), triple European champion, and I publish the Koka Kids Children’s Judo Books.
It’s been my mission for the last three decades to promote judo.
Koka Kids Coaching Resources began as a part of the Koka Kids magazine over 20 years ago, when I’d send out posters for coaches to put up around their dojos. Now, all this is digital, allowing for so much more possibilities.
There are over 200 downloadable and printable resources in the library
Waiting for you, waiting for you to sign up and begin using at your dojo.

The Koka Kids resources are used by judo coaches around the world.
Kaidokan Judo Academy, Blackpool - Sensei Ross Goodwin
“The children love the certificates as it inspires them further. We use a variety of certificates which can be earned in versatile ways to ensure all children focus on themselves and support their team rather than competing against each other. They can be earned by displaying perseverance, patience, determination, overcoming adversity and for supporting one another.”
Brooklyn Martial Arts Dojo, New York Sensei Connie Halporn
“I just made a print out of the "how to tie your belt" poster and handed it out to my my adults who can't seem to remember how to do it! Even though the focus is for kids the adults have been finding the materials so useful for themselves. Also, I used the We do Judo flyers for the Club Day at New York University here in New York City. We handed out 200 of the flyers and we got lots of interest!”
Paul Jones School of Judo, Basingstoke Sensei Paul Jones
“I use the work sheets as my lesson plans and as a teaching tool for me and the children. Each term, I print out certificates and teaching sheets for the techniques I plan to teach. This term we are working on improving Shadow Judo and our groundwork turnovers, like the Arm Roll and Wrist Grab. For the older ones, I’ll be using a few of the Koka Kids combinations, too. I’ve noticed the kids feel that little bit more determined to work harder because they want to achieve the certificate that goes with each technique.”
This is what I want Koka Kids Coaching Resources to be - a library that coaches can come to at any time, and quickly get what they need.
