A fun drill to improve Osaekomi skills
About (tips from Nik)
We often practice combining standing techniques, linking throw to throw - but how often do we practice groundwork combinations? Being able to link one hold down to another, to move smoothly from say, Yoko Shiho-Gatame into Kami Shiho-Gatame is a useful skill for all juniors to develop.
Here is a fun osaekomi circuit to improve coordination and groundwork. Use as a warm up, a fun game. Once your judoka have learnt the four hold downs why not present them with this certificate to mark their progress?
