Last month’s Osae-komi Discovery Award was to help beginners the learn four basic ukemi.

Today, the Osae-komi Mastery Award, take those skills and develops them. We use same four hold downs, but now we put them into realistic situations:

1. Escape from yoko-shiho-gatame and hold with yoko-shiho-gatame

2. A turnover into tate-shiho-gatame

3. Move in a half circle, from tate-shiho-gatatme into kami-shiho-gatame

4. Throw with o-goshi and transition into kesa-gatame.
