Let’s continue with the KK+ Technical resources, with a throw that is often a central part to any judoka’s range and repertoire. It’s a classic with lots of scope for linking it in combinations. This week we look at: Morote Seoi-Nage
A great throw to get children moving around the tatami and attacking.
There are various drills (that you can do with any technique) to encourage movement and breaking of balance before attack.
Alternate Uchi-Komi, where one judoka turns in then out, then the other. This can be done with set steps in-between.
Move and Attack. Similar to the first drill, but now the movement is freer, with both judoka moving all around the tatami, but still attacking alternately.
Move, Set up and Attack. This time, just one judoka does all the attacking for a period of time, say 1 minute, then swop over.
