Respect
Mostly, we think about respect in the sense of respecting others. But there’s Alps respect of the environment. And very importantly to drive helpful beliefs and behaviours: self-respect.
Some ideas on how to teach the moral code at your dojo using these visuals.
Create an environment, with visual reminders of the judo moral code and of how judoka are expected to behave.
Add the two “Respect” posters to your growing moral code focal point.
Begin discussions by using real-life every-day examples and situations when a judoka acts with respect.
Use the “Respectinthedojo” file to print off A5 flyers and give them out at an open day.
Get the students thinking about their own behaviour.
Print the worksheets and colouring page and pin the children’s homework up on a wall.
Reward respect with a sticker!
Print a load of stickers and give them out as you notice respect being show around the dojo.
