Let’s continue with the weekly judo resources, and today we look at an important drill: Shadow Judo.
A word from Nik
Shadow Judo (Tandoku-Renshu) is used widely in Japan. During a warm ups, the judoka will spend up to 20 minutes, moving around the mat, practicing solo, against their shadows. After spending a month training in Japan, I brought Shadow Judo into my own training, and here’s a post I wrote about it with nine exercises but the great thing about Shadow Judo is that is can be done by absolutely anyone of any age or level and kids love it!
