Certificates for Kami-Shiho-Gatame

Below, please find this week’s visual resources for Kami-Shiho-Gatame.

There are four certificates, with the objective to move the student up through the skill levels

Here are my suggested requirements/recommendations for each level below - or of course you could add your own to the blank Task Sheet template below.

  1. Level 1: Basic Hold Down

  2. Level 2: Able to Escape from Yoko-Shiho-Gatame

  3. Level 3: Able to do a Turnover into Yoko-Shiho-Gatame

  4. Level 4: Able to Throw and hold with Yoko-Shiho-Gatame

As well as helping the kids, Certificates are a great way for parents to see how their child is progressing at judo.

Level 1: Basic Hold Down

Level 2: Able to Escape from Kami-Shiho-Gatame

Matte!

Sorry, but if you’re not subscribed you are about to hit a paywall. Yes I know, and I’m sorry. But, don’t let it stop you fighting on. Either check out the free resources available for all judo coaches to use OR you are most welcome to join us in the Resource Dojo on the other side of the pay wall. To breakthrough simply sign up for a monthly or annual (cheaper) account. It’s only $90 / £70 a year, and you’ll get all this. Plus a free printed copy of a Koka Kids book. It’s a good deal
