2. Harai-Goshi into Osoto-Gari
Make the first attack realistic. Keep it real.
Ippon Seoi Nage is the set up attack. Although its just a feint, and an incomplete attack, it’s really important that it’s realistic enough to make uke react. The reaction you are want is for uke to block, by sinking their hips.
I have found a good way to practice this is to first do several full Ippon Seoi Nage attacks, with uke blocking each one. If uke doesn’t block, then throw them forwards.
Once you have this movement ingrained, then keep the upper body movement (pull uke forwards, turn the head), but do not move your feet. See if you can still convince uke that an Ippon Seoi Nage is coming, and get them to react and block.
Once you are provoking a genuine reaction and fooling uke with just your upper body, you can begin to switch backwards into the Kouchi-Gake.
