Dear judo coaches,
I thought I’d use this Monday’s Judo Resource Newsletter to get in touch with you all, and discover what sort of resources you would like to see for this coming term/year.
You can let me know me know in subscriber chat below. I’ll be reading every single comment, and joining in the discussion too.
Please do send your ideas, and suggestions and feedback, or even just say hello and let me know what problems your dojo is facing right now.
Together, we can begin to resolve them.

The plans. Coming up in 2024 and 2025…
Here are some of the ideas I am throwing around at the moment.
Let me know what you think about the following. Any in particular grab your attention?
PDFS, DOWNLOADS, PRINT-OFFS
Drills, Games, Warm-ups (methods to practice fundamental skills, which set up for technique, and also provide fun ways to create warm-ups and exercises)
Rewards Certificates (certificates you can print off to encourage and motivate)
Techniques and Dojo Posters (larger posters that can be used around the dojo to remind children visually of what they are learning on the mat)
Activity Sheets (black and white print offs for the kids to take home with them to help them stay engaged in judo and learning while at home)
But I’m also widening the scope, and thinking beyond just pdf files to things like…
HARD COPIES OF BOOKS FOR CLUBS, BANNERS, INTERACTIVE TOOLS
Interactive Tools (e-book section with online, interactive games, similar to the these USJF Syllabus books, what are you thoughts around digital products for children?)
Branded Books for Clubs (a Koka Kids judo book but with your club logo on the front cover, professionally printed, to give out to your membership)
Banner sets and wall hangings (to dress your dojo, making it look kid friendly, and appealing and professional).
What do you think? Any use?
It’s now, right now you can help shape these resources as we move into the next term and I begin the design process.
And you can do that here (in about 5 seconds flat) by leaving a message and joining the discussion.
So let me know what you’re thinking!
Also…
Please do remember at any time you can come back to the main library and download past archives…
You have Open-24/7 access to The Library which continues to grow week on week.
The resources are grouped into categories to make it easier to search; tachi-waza and ne-waza and 4Skills. Material to help you promote your dojo and engage the kids with activities, or check out the case studies to see how other clubs are using these visuals to benefit their set-ups.
For those of you who haven’t yet taken the plunge to a paid subscription there are some free resources here - and if you want to see the prices to upgrade please go to the subscription page.
There are now 200+ resources!
Here are some examples from the library:
Have a great week, and I look forward to hearing from you shortly, reply here.
All the best,
Nik
