My mum did judo. Just the once. She took part in a sponsored throw night, where our Sensei, Don Werner encouraged the parents to have a go. Us kids all thought it was great to have the parents on the mat, and some of the parents kept it up afterwards, joining the Wednesday night senior session. My mum? No, she didn’t join the senior class - but she did alright in her line-up throwing her partners to loud applause from us all. Bring a Parent Night makes for a fun evening and it gets the parents involved. Who knows might add a few new beginners to your adult classes. Whatever, it’s a lot of laughs, guaranteed.
